MADD NEBRASKA

Our mission is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

Founded by a mother who lost her daughter in a crash, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization working to protect families from drunk driving and underage drinking. With the help of those who want a safer future, MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving will end this danger on American roads. And, The Power of Parents, It’s Your Influence offers research-proven strategies to help parents keep their children safe from the dangers of underage drinking. One of the largest victim services organizations in the U.S., MADD also supports drunk driving victims and survivors – serving one person every 10 minutes – at no charge. Join us today and help MADD grow.

CAMPAIGN TO ELIMINATE DUNK DRIVING

Together, we can protect our families from drunk driving.

  • Support our heroes who keep our roads safe. High-visibilty law enforcement catches drunk drivers and discourages others from driving drunk.
  • Require convicted drunk drivers to blow before they go. Ignition interlock devices, or in-car Breathalyzers, require all convicted drunk drivers to prove they are sober before the car will start.

  1. I am so irate about the murder basically of the 4 motorcycle riders by this alcoholic kid, why did the store sell him more alcohol when they knew he was drunk, why was he on the road in the first place?? Then, the young Dr in Omaha, but another drunk who was so intoxicated at 8am that he could hardly walk..read his myspace..both of these people wrote how they woke up drunk..
When is Nebraska going to start treating these people like the killers they are..we just had a cop here fired for dui…a COP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has got to stop, I have never felt so sick in my life after reading these stories in the paper..all of these people should have to face the families of the people they have destroyed..look the kids and wives in the face as they the drivers walk around alive with minor injuries..
These drivers make the decision to get into cars and drive..it has to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I just wanted to follow up that I did go to Iowa for the sentencing on March 24th. The judge in Iowa was firm and held the offender accountable. The judge stated “the sentence
i give you today will pale in comparison to the sentence you have given the families.”

Not much else you can add to that. Thank you for your interest and support.

  2. Hello
Let me introduce myself. My name is Robbin Hoffman and my niece was the backseat passenger in fatal wreck in Crofton, Nebraska 09/18/2010. At the time of the accident, the driver Matt Laden, was on Felony Probation-Supervised, in the State of South Dakota, and now we know was not even suppose to be behind the wheel of the car. He was so intoxicated he somehow hit a bridge and caused this fatal car wreck. I will not call this a accident, because he knew he was intoxicated and willing drove the car. That is not a accident. The front seat passenger, Tracey Arens, and the other backseat passenger was Nick LaCroix. Shortly after the accident, Matt Laden was so worried about himself he did not even attempt to help his passengers. He got out of the car, after disposing of any and all alcohol that was in the vehicle, and flagged down a car to get him away from the scene as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, my niece Jennifer Ann Riggs, got out of the vehicle and was flagging down vehicles for help. Somehow, her cell was thrown around in the backseat of the car. Jennifer was sober ( hospital blood alcohol results prove this) and was trying desperately to get help, not knowing her 2 friends whom remained in the car were deceased. This happened over 1 year ago, and to date nothing by the Prosecuting Attorney has been done. No charges filed, etc. Matt Laden has confessed to this entire incident, has tried to commit suicide, his DNA was found all over the Airbag and steering wheel, still the County Prosecuting Attorney will not press charges. He is now hiding out in another county in South Dakota ( not sure exactly the name) driving, partying, and continues to drink excessively. I am writing to you and begging for help to get this individual the justice he so deserves, before anyone else’s families are put through what Jennifer’s, Tracey’s and Nick’s family have gone through. Can you please help us. My sister, Jennifer’s mom as well as Jennifer continue to reside in Yankton, South Dakota, and myself I reside in Texas. I have contacted the State Attorney General’s office for Nebraska already. We just need your advise and help to get Matt Laden off the streets.
    Thank-You

    Robbin Hoffman
p.s. could you email a copy of this letter, for my file. I am not a computer wiz, and I am not sure how to copy this myself. Thank-You
