A Safe Holiday Weekend

Posted: August 31, 2012 in Uncategorized

It always seems that Labor Day weekend is the true beginning of fall. Yes, the calendar says it doesn’t start until the end of September, but something about this weekend feels like fall. School has started and kids are starting to settle into the routine, football is kicking off, and every once in awhile you can feel a crisp breeze that feels like fall. It is a great weekend for so many reasons, but sadly it is also a dangerous weekend.

We typically see a spike in crashes on our roads during these few days. It is up to all of us to make the choices that keep our roads safe over this holiday weekend. Pay attention, leave extra time when going places, and most important make the choice to not drink and drive this weekend, and always. If your weekend plans include alcohol, make sure they include a sober designated driver as well.

Our local law enforcement will be out on the roads in force working to keep us all safe, let’s make their job easy by making sure we are doing our part. Have a fun, safe holiday weekend and as always remember to drive safe, sober and buckled up!
